Beneath Thy Side
Beneath Thy Side
As Marcus leaves for good
For it was thee alone I knew
I found the caste beneath thy side
I fumbled in the darkness thy sight to regain
I loom off the horizon thee to see again
To anchor my ankles in thy bosom again
What a costume of humour
Paddling my trust in thy assurance
I had found against my awkward timidity
As I succumbed to utmost innocence
The hopes of nativity and longevity
My cause was without constraint
As thy feet were off to the seashore
So much a thought to retain over the waves
Yet as the sunset searches for the sea’s horizon
So my zeal for thee would ever anchor
As Marcus leaves for good
For it was thee alone I knew
I found the caste beneath thy side
I fumbled in the darkness thy sight to regain
I loom off the horizon thee to see again
To anchor my ankles in thy bosom again
What a costume of humour
Paddling my trust in thy assurance
I had found against my awkward timidity
As I succumbed to utmost innocence
The hopes of nativity and longevity
My cause was without constraint
As thy feet were off to the seashore
So much a thought to retain over the waves
Yet as the sunset searches for the sea’s horizon
So my zeal for thee would ever anchor
